2010 COURSE SCHEDULE
 

Held at the Training Room at 6A Doncaster Street, Mangere, Auckland over one day.  Contractor training sessions are designed to provide an overview of audio concepts, product knowledge and real world applications. 

 

Who Should Attend?
 

The Contractor Audio Training Program is appropriate for anyone involved with AV Installation, Pro Audio sales, design or contracting.  Attendees of this course will gain a better understanding of how to design and implement audio systems.

Session 1 (60mins)

Introduction to DSP

What are the advantages of using DSP audio products?

Session 2 (30mins)

Gain structure

Practical examples of how to set gain structure though a DSP from the mic to the speaker. 

Session 3 (60mins)

Loudspeakers

Selecting the right speaker for the application.  Overview of speaker placement and types.  Application examples of corporate boardrooms, restaurant/bar and lecture theatres.

Session 4 (60mins)

Microphones

Choosing the correct microphones for corporate boardrooms, lecture theatres, council chambers, conference rooms.  Using Automixers to control multiple microphones and help reduce feedback.

Session 5 (60mins)

100V or Low Z

When and how to use 100V or Low Impedance speaker distribution systems.  Covers the advantages of each type of system design approach.

                                    

                                   

About Your Instructor

 

Richard Braid also started his audio career in musical theatre, and has since been nominated seven times by the NAPTA for "Best Sound Design”.    To support his interests in Musical Theatre, Richard also became a NZ Certified Electrician in 1992 (Registered Electrician in 1994.)  In 1996 Richard earned a NZQA Diploma in Audio Engineering.  Richard joined the Now Sound team in 2005, and is now the Commercial Sound Specialist for Now Sound.
