Tainted Go Wireless With Shure
13 February 2009Campbell "Slim" Jenkins has been performing for many years in the NZ metal scene using a variety of microphones, however early on in his career he purchased a Shure Beta58A. The specifications of the Beta58A has a high frequency response and more gain before feedback, this is perfect for Slim's vocal style. He has found it to be by far the best microphone for his needs as a metal vocalist. "In terms of clarity, reliability and durability my Beta58A has surpassed my expectation and abuse over the years. It has survived drops, knocks and vocal abuse that has broken other microphones".

With the recent release of Tainted's second full length album "Carved and Created" and the increasing problem of getting tangled during an active live set, Slim has decided to go wireless. Shure was more than happy to get in behind a local talented band such as Tainted, and have supplied Slim with a SLX24-Beta58 Wireless System. Roger Wilson from NOW SOUND, NZ's Shure Distributor says "Tainted are just the sort of home grown, talented band that Shure is looking to endorse".
Slim has been using the SLX24-Beta58 wireless systems for several weeks now and has this to say "I loved the wireless Beta 58a from the first time I used it, its light, it's rugged and the SLX system is incredibly easy to use. I had worries about a possible loss in sound quality when switching to wireless, but there have been no such problems. Going wireless has really given me the freedom to perform on stage the way I always wanted to, I'm no longer tangling up with guitarists, the fold-backs, or the crowd."

Tainted are Supporting Arch Enemy in Auckland Nov 10th

With great power comes greater power still......the words that perhaps best describe the rise of Swedish melodic death metal titans ARCH ENEMY as they stampede on to New Zealand soil for the very first time.
With albums that have charted in over 20 countries, top billing appearances on the world's major metal festivals and a rabid legion of fans the world over, Arch Enemy have invented and reinvented the platform for major worldwide success as a metal act. Between the razor-like riffage of brothers Michael and Christopher Amott, the crushing rhythms of drummer Daniel Erlandsson and the howling, glamazonian voice of vocalist Angela Gossow, this is a band that have set a precedent for sheer metal masterhood that few have followed and fewer have bettered.
Arch Enemy's new album 'The Root of All Evil' will be released worldwide on September 28th, giving New Zealand fans the opportunity to be one of the first countries to hear the band's latest material in a live setting. With much anticipation surrounding the follow-up to 2007's juggernaut release 'Rise of the Tyrant', there will not be a better time to witness one of metal's most vital acts live.
