Shure Sing-a-City Competition!
25 November 2009
The concept of a “City” comes from the music equalizers. Virtual buildings symbolize the EQ bars, of which heights fluctuate according to the pitches of an audio file. Different unique “Cities” will be transformed accordingly with your own recordings.
Entrants can share their masterpieces by using the new Shure digital recording products, including PG27-USB and PG42-USB Side Address Condenser Microphones and X2u, XLR-to-USB Signal Adapter, featuring seamless connectivity that enables the convenience of personal digital recording anytime, anywhere.
Three main categories are opened for recording submissions: Vocal Original Song, Vocal Cover Song and Instrument Music. Winner of each category will receive various fabulous prizes including a trip to the renowned V Festival in the United Kingdom and the 40th Anniversary limited edition Shure legendary SM58® vocal microphone!
Submissions will be evaluated based upon their overall interpretation and expression of the composition, voice quality as well as the singing, recording and mixing technique. Three finalists of each category will be selected to enter a final public online voting. Announcement of winners for the three categories will take place on April 30, 2010 at www.sing-a-city.com.
We also open another category, Just-for-Fun, which welcomes submissions of all kinds of sound bites and audio clips! Recordings of this category will be judged weekly by the number of “LIKE” voted by visitors. Every week, ten winners will be selected and awarded an original mug with their own winning cities printed! Voting period for this category begins every Saturday at 12:00am (GMT+8) and ends every Friday at 11:59pm (GMT+8), with the announcement of winners on every Saturday.
