Point To Point Wireless With Shure UHF-R And PSM900

16 July 2010

With the introduction of Shure’s new PSM900 in-ear monitor system, an off the shelf solution is finally available.

Shure have included a special P2P (point to point) mode in the new PSM900 transmitter, allowing it to directly work with a Shure UHF-R wireless microphone receiver on a compatible frequency range. For example: A Shure PSM900 Transmitter (P9T) on the G7Z band (518MHz – 542MHz) can be directly linked with a Shure UHF-R receiver (UR4D or UR4S) on the H4 band (518MHz – 578MHz) to create a high quality point to point wireless audio link. If teamed with directional antennas at each end, link lengths of 500m or more (must be line of sight) should be achievable.
